Kano NSCDC Command Formally Decorates 265 Newly Promoted Personnel

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has formally decorated 265 personnel with their new ranks. This follows a wave of promotions approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board.

During a ceremony held at the Command’s headquarters in Kano, State Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama presided over the event, offering his congratulations to the elevated officers. According to a statement released on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the promotion serves as a testament to the officers’ hard work and professionalism.

Commandant Agalama emphasized that these new ranks are a direct recognition of the officers’ discipline and loyalty. He reminded the personnel that their advancement is not just a reward, but a mandate to provide even greater service and take on increased responsibilities within the Corps.

The commandant highlighted that the promotions were a direct result of the officers’ hard work, stating: “This advancement acknowledges your steadfast dedication, discipline, and selfless commitment to your duties.”

Agalama tasked the officers with consistently embodying the Corps’ foundational principles—specifically integrity, patriotism, loyalty, and professionalism—while respecting established authority in all their operations.

The Commandant also issued a stern warning against any form of misconduct or unprofessionalism. He made it clear that the Command would take a zero-tolerance approach toward any behavior that could damage the reputation or public image of the NSCDC.

He noted that maintaining professionalism, fostering teamwork, and strictly following operational protocols are essential for the Command to fulfill its mission of safeguarding public safety and protecting vital national infrastructure throughout Kano State.

The event was attended by several high-profile guests, including Abdulhakim Kamilu Ado, the House of Representatives member for the Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency. Also in attendance were senior officials from the Command, representatives from various sister security agencies, as well as the families and friends of the newly promoted officers.
