The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has standardized the selling prices for all housing units under its Renewed Hope Estate Programme across Nigeria. According to a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by the Director of Press, Badamasi Haiba, this move is designed to make homeownership more accessible and equitable for citizens.

The prices for the semi-detached bungalow units are now fixed as follows: one-bedroom semi-detached bungalow: N8.5m, two-bedroom semi-detached bungalow: N11.5m, and three-bedroom semi-detached bungalow: N12.5m.

According to Housing and Urban Development Minister Ahmed Dangiwa, the new uniform pricing strategy was adopted to foster affordability, transparency, and fairness, ensuring Nigerians nationwide have equal access to the Renewed Hope Housing Programme.

Dangiwa further explained that priority allocation will be given to specific groups: low- and middle-income earners, civil servants at all government levels, employees in the organized private sector with verifiable income, and Nigerians in the Diaspora looking to own homes locally.

Shedding further light on the issue, Permanent Secretary Dr. Shuaib Belgore explained that the Ministry has provided several payment options to make the houses more affordable and flexible for buyers.

The flexible payment structure includes options such as outright (full) payment, mortgage plans, rent-to-own schemes, and instalment payment plans. The Ministry announced that the sale of these completed units in both the northern and southern regions will begin shortly.

Applications can be submitted online via the Renewed Hope Housing portal at www.renewedhopehomes.fmhud.gov.ng or obtained physically at the Ministry’s headquarters and field offices nationwide.

Crucially, Ministry spokesperson Badamasi Haiba clarified that the approved prices apply only to the Renewed Hope Housing Estates funded by the Ministry’s budget. The pricing does not cover the Renewed Hope Cities (like those planned for Karsana-Abuja, Janguza-Kano, and Ibeju Lekki-Lagos), which are being developed through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
