Senator Ogoshi Onawo Dumps PDP in Nasarawa South The Senator representing Nasarawa South, Ogoshi Onawo, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a letter dated January 10, 2026, and addressed to his ward chairman in Galadimawa, Doma Local Government Area, the federal lawmaker announced that his departure takes immediate effect. Onawo described the move as a personal decision made after careful consideration.
Senator Onawo emphasized that his departure was a private decision reached after significant reflection. “This decision was made after careful consideration and is based solely on personal reasons,” he clarified. In his formal exit letter, he expressed sincere gratitude to the PDP’s leadership and rank-and-file members, thanking them for the platform and the opportunity to represent his constituency under the party’s banner.
“I remain grateful for the trust and cooperation,” Senator Onawo stated in his final message to the PDP, formally resigning for “personal reasons.” While he avoided naming a new party, his political future is the subject of intense speculation. Having already participated in ADC meetings as far back as July 2025, analysts expect the Nasarawa South representative to lead a new coalition under the ADC banner as the 2027 election cycle begins to take shape.
