Chippa United has officially confirmed the departure of Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali after the 28-year-old shot-stopper formally requested to leave the South African club.

In a statement released via its official X account on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the Port Elizabeth-based team announced that management had approved Nwabali’s request for release following “careful consideration.” The club expressed its gratitude to the Nigerian international for his dedication, professionalism, and significant contributions during his tenure with the “Chilli Boys.”

Chippa United concluded its message by praising Nwabali’s dedication and thanking him for his “years of service, commitment, and professionalism.” The club noted that his contributions would be long remembered and wished the Nigerian international well as he enters the next phase of his career.

Since joining the “Chilli Boys” in 2022 from the NPFL, Nwabali has enjoyed a meteoric rise. His standout performances at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast—where he helped Nigeria reach the final—and his continued excellence during the 2025 AFCON in Morocco have established him as one of the continent’s elite goalkeepers.

His next destination is yet to be officially announced.
